Mission 01: I See You

The Zulu greeting, sawubona, translates to “I see you.” It recognizes the other person’s existence. How many people do we pass each day without seeing or acknowledging? What if we were to “see them”? What would that simple act of recognition mean for us and them?

For three weeks, greet everyone you pass on the sidewalk. Hello is enough. Don’t feel you have to have a long conversation – though you’re welcome to.

Share your observations, reflections, questions, and stories in the comments below.

PS: Feel free to adjust the experiment as needed to suit you and your current circumstances.
